Jan Cincera works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Studies (Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic), where he focuses on environmental education theory, research, and instructional strategies. He closely cooperates with environmental education centers in his and neighbor countries, is experienced in the evaluation research and program analyzes.

Head of the Department of Pre-primary and Primary Education of the Pedagogical Faculty of UJEP, whose pedagogical and research activities are focused primarily on environmental education of pre-school and younger school age children and their teachers. He focuses on research topics related to environmental literacy, outdoor education and sustainable consumption.

Biologist and teacher, director of the SEVER Environmental Education Center and Vice-chairman of Committee for Education of Governmental Board on Sustainable Development. He co-founded the Green Circle – Association of Environmental NGOs in 1989 and Pavučina - Network of EE Centers Pavučina in 1996 and he is member of the Executive Committee of Pavučina. He focuses on teacher education, methodological issues (recently especially place-based learning), advocacy for environmental education and education for sustainability (participated in creation of national EE strategies and policy papers and works in governmental advisory bodies on EE).

Michal Medek has been teaching environmental education at two faculties of Masaryk University, Brno for 15 years. Apart from his academic involvement he established two environmental education centres and led them for almost 20 years. Michal has always tried to connect academia with practitioners. His current focus is on non-formal learning, environmental interpretation in particular. Michal’s background is biology, geography and geology (MSc), environmental humanities (MA) and heritage interpretation (PgCert).

Miroslav Novák is a representative of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, responsible for the environmental education agenda. He is also Czech Focal Point in the UNECE Steering Committee for Education for Sustainable Development. In the past, he worked in several environmental NGOs (Living Planet, Podhoubí, Tereza). As a consultant he recently participated in several documentary films on sustainable issues.

I graduated in biology teaching at secondary schools, currently I'm a doctoral student in Biology Education where my research focuses on environmental education. At the Department of Biology at PF JCU I teach subjects with environmental profiling, teach at secondary school and I am a lecturer of several educational programs in the ecological center Hamerský potok.

I am a PhD student at the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague. I study Biology Education at the Department of Biology and Environmental Studies. In my dissertation project I focus on environmental literacy testing of primary school pupils in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany. My main goal is to compile and verify the author's analytical tool. Subsequently to create a compact real idea of the environmental literacy of the target group, especially in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In my working life I also actively participate in environmental education.
